Turkiye detains 355 illegal migrants

Turkish law enforcement authorities have detained 355 undocumented migrants and 25 people suspected of organizing migrant smuggling networks during the latest large-scale operation targeting illegal migration.

Axar.az informs, citing Turkish media, that according to the Turkish Interior Ministry, inspections were carried out across all 81 provinces of the country.

The ministry said the operation involved 26,236 police officers and gendarmerie personnel.

Authorities inspected 14,142 locations that could be used by undocumented migrants, including 3,795 abandoned buildings. Identity checks were also conducted at 7,447 public venues and 449 transport terminals.

Procedures have begun to deport the undocumented migrants from Turkiye.
