Zelensky holds first talks with UK PM Burnham - Video

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met with newly appointed British Prime Minister Andy Burnham aboard the Royal Navy aircraft carrier HMS Queen Elizabeth during a visit to the Portsmouth Naval Base.

Axar.az reports that according to Zelensky's Telegram account, the two leaders discussed strengthening Ukraine's air and maritime defense capabilities, expanding joint defense production, and deepening bilateral security cooperation.

Zelensky thanked the United Kingdom for its decision to provide Ukraine with electronic warfare (EW) technology to help protect Ukrainian drones, saying it would be valuable on the battlefield. He also invited Burnham to visit Ukraine.

The Ukrainian president said it was a significant sign of support that his delegation's visit was the first foreign visit hosted by Burnham since taking office. Burnham, who became Britain's prime minister on July 20, reaffirmed the UK's continued support for Ukraine, according to Zelensky.
