Trump: Israel would have been terminated without US

U.S. President Donald Trump said Israel would not have survived without American support, arguing that his military and diplomatic actions against Iran prevented the country from being destroyed.

Axar.az reports, citing Fox News, that speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One en route to Michigan, Trump said the United States has been generous in supporting allies.

"We're being very nice to a lot of countries that would not survive without us. And you know who wouldn't survive without us? Israel," he said.

Trump added that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu would agree with his assessment.

"If I didn't get involved and if I didn't blow up those nuclear — essentially soon-to-be nuclear weapons — to dust, as I call it, Israel would have been terminated," Trump said.

He also defended his decision to withdraw the United States from the 2015 Iran nuclear agreement, arguing that without the move, Israel would have faced destruction "months ago" or "years ago."
