Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said he met with executives from U.S. defense contractor Lockheed Martin to discuss expanding cooperation, including joint weapons production and technology sharing.

Axar.az reports that Zelensky announced this on his Telegram account.

"Today we discussed the further expansion of our cooperation — joint production and technology exchange. Ukraine has much to share with those who help us protect lives," Zelensky said.

He said the talks focused on cooperation involving Patriot systems and other defense capabilities.

"Our teams are already working on concrete solutions to move to joint production as quickly as possible and increase our capabilities in protecting lives," Zelensky said, thanking the company "for its support and all the assistance."

Lockheed Martin manufactures systems including ATACMS, HIMARS, F-16 fighter jets and missiles for the Patriot air defense system.
