Russia, Kyrgyzstan launch Center-2026 drills

The joint Russia-Kyrgyzstan tactical exercise “Center-2026” began in the city of Balykchy on the shores of Lake Issyk-Kul.

Axar.az reports that the press service of Kyrgyzstan’s Defense Ministry made the announcement.

“A ceremony to open the joint tactical exercise ‘Center-2026’ was held on August 11, 2026, at military unit 20636,” the statement said.

The statement said that up to 500 servicemen are taking part in the drills, along with up to 100 pieces of weapons and military equipment, combat FPV drones, and army aviation from both countries.

The press service noted that the joint tactical exercise is being held from August 11 to 17 as part of bilateral cooperation between the defense ministries of Kyrgyzstan and Russia.
