Former Supreme Court chief elected Hungary president

Hungarian parliament elects former Supreme Court president Andras Baka as president.

Axar.az reports, citing Hungarian media, that Hungary’s parliament has elected Andras Baka, former president of the country’s Supreme Court, as president.

Baka was elected with 140 votes in favor and six against. No abstentions were recorded.

He took the presidential oath following the announcement of the election results and will assume office on the eighth day after the results are announced.
