TRIPP route seen as solution to Nakhchivan access issue

A new approach and creative methods have been found to resolve the issue of Azerbaijan gaining unobstructed access to its Nakhchivan exclave.

Axar.az reports, citing Telеqraf, that US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff said this in an article published in the Washington Examiner.

The official said this had been made possible through US President Donald Trump’s effective engagement with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

“The result of this effective work was the TRIPP (or ‘Trump Route’) concept. Today, the TRIPP concept is recognized worldwide as a model for resolving seemingly intractable disputes not through endless negotiations, but through creativity, strength and mutual interests. Over the past year, the United States has been working with Armenia and Azerbaijan to implement this agreement. Our expectation is that TRIPP will continue via the Caspian Sea and that this concept will also be developed in the Middle East,” Witkoff said.
