Kukashenko predicts end to Ukraine conflict by next year

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko believes the conflict in Ukraine will end soon.

Axar.az reports, citing Belarusian media, that Lukashenko made the remarks during a working visit to the Vitebsk Region, where he was briefed on the training of one of the people’s militia units.

“And there will be peace. If not this year, then next year. I am absolutely convinced,” he said.

According to Lukashenko, ending the conflict is necessary, and both Ukraine and Russia have an interest in doing so, as it has negative consequences for both countries.
