Aircraft returns to Yerevan shortly after takeoff

An aircraft operating the Yerevan–Mineralnye Vody flight issued a distress signal shortly after takeoff.

Axar.az reports, citing Flightradar24, that the aircraft changed course and returned to Yerevan a short time after issuing the signal.

In a statement on the incident, Armenia’s Civil Aviation Committee said there was no serious problem with the aircraft.

“The aircraft has already returned to the airport. It will resume its flight after a technical inspection,” the statement said.
