Poland’s president calls urgent talks over court crisis -

Polish President Karol Nawrocki has called an urgent meeting involving all political forces to address the situation at the country’s Constitutional Tribunal.

Axar.az reports, citing foreign media, that the Polish president has yet to leave the court building, which he visited amid the constitutional crisis.

It should be noted that police activity at Poland’s Constitutional Tribunal has sparked a political dispute. Repоrts circulating on social media say that officers acting on the government’s instructions entered the building and removed security personnel. Police deny forcibly entering the premises, saying their actions were prompted by a judge’s concerns over staff safety. Three people were detained after entering the Tribunal grounds.

President Karol Nawrocki cut short his visit to Senegal and returned to Poland amid the incident. The dispute comes against the backdrop of tensions over judicial appointments and the oath-taking procedure.
