Zakharova hits back at Simonyan over Karabakh war remarks

"We do not know whose feet he fell on back then, or perhaps he continues to do so. But it was Russia, and no one else, that stopped the bloodshed in the region,” Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said.

Axar.az reports that Zakharova made the remarks while commenting on statements by Armenian Security Council Secretary Alen Simonyan about the Karabakh war.

Zakharova stressed that the trilateral statement signed by the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan, and Armenia on the night of November 9-10, 2020, brought military operations in Karabakh to an end.

Simonyan said yesterday that he travelled to Moscow in 2020 and appealed to Russia to stop the war in Karabakh.
