Macron again criticized NATO

French President Emmanuel Macron has said he no longer sees the struggle with NATO as meaningless.

Axar.az reports that the French leader noted that the organization is no longer relevant.

According to the French president, the North Atlantic Alliance was created to oppose the Warsaw Pact, which was founded around the USSR and does not exist now.

"Sometimes we continue to fight an ideology or an organization that no longer exists," he said. This leads to the division of Europe itself, "said Emmanuel Macron.

President Macron also criticized the work of the UN Security Council. According to him, this body has failed as a means of resolving major regional conflicts. For example, the Council could have prevented tensions between the United States and China, but according to Markon, the People's Republic of China is unlikely to agree.

Two years ago, the French president said that NATO was carrying out a "brain death", which angered former US President Donald Trump.

Donald Trump accused the French of ingratitude, saying, "If it weren't for us, they would now speak German."
