China has stepped up talks with US oil exporters

Chinese energy companies have begun preliminary talks with US exporters on a long-term supply of compressed natural gas.

Axar.az reports this information was spread by Reuters citing its sources.

Rising gas prices and power shortages within China are reportedly fueling the government's fears of a fuel shortage in the country. Among the companies negotiating with the United States are corporations such as Zhejiang Energy, Sinopec and CNOOC. The talks will lead to a deal worth tens of billions of dollars and a sharp increase in natural gas imports from the United States.

China has been in talks with the United States since early 2021. In recent months, these talks have intensified.
