The ban on wheat export came into force in Georgia

The ban on the export of wheat and barley to Georgia came into force today.

Axar.az reports that the press service of the Georgian government released information about this.

"The ban will be valid until July 2023. The authorities made this decision taking into account the current needs of the country," the information emphasized.

It should be noted that Georgia consumes up to 650,000 tons of wheat per year and provides only 15% of its needs. Russia accounts for more than 90% of imports.
