The difference between the M1A1 version and the M1A2 version of the Abrams tanks is like the difference between a drum phone and an iPhone.

Axar.az reports that this was said by American General Robert Abrams, who is in reserve.

According to him, the unique feature of this model of the "Abrams" tank is a new inter-vehicle information system:

"This system allows tanks to continuously and automatically exchange information. With this technology, commanders can quickly track the location of tanks, determine enemy positions, and process artillery requests," the general said.

Abrams noted that the improved version of this tank is more lethal than the A1:

"In terms of lethality, survivability, and mobility, the M1A2 is far superior to all Russian battlefield equipment."
