Sanctions forced Russia to do this - Markov

Tehran bought a lot of Airbus and Boeing before the sanctions. He was forced to create a base to serve them. Russia does not have a maintenance base for American and European aircraft.

Axar.az reports that Russian political commentator Sergey Markov said these words while talking about the planes that Russia sent to Iran for repair.

He noted that the sanctions forced Russia and Iran to cooperate:

"There is no repair base for Airbus and Boeing in Russia." Due to sanctions, they do not provide technical services. Therefore, it is more convenient to use a repair base operating in Iran. If there is such an opportunity in Iran, why is it necessary to create a service base in Russia itself? "Perhaps, in the future, Russia will use Iran's experience and create its own repair base, because Russia has hundreds of such planes."
