Turkiye ends $35 duty-free limit for goods sent by mail

In Turkiye the 30-euro limit for tax-free shopping from abroad by mail or cargo has been removed, ending the era of duty-free imports.

Axar.az informs according to a presidential decree published in the Official Gazette on January 7, 2026, the duty-free shopping period is officially over.

Previously, under regulations that came into effect on August 6, 2024, the customs limit for individual imports from abroad had been lowered from 150 euros to 30 euros.

In December 2024, new rules reduced the limit further to 27 euros, including shipping costs, with a 3-euro shipping fee added to each order.

Non-commercial goods sent to Turkiye by express cargo or mail are now subject to customs duties: 30% for items coming from European Union countries and 60% for items from other countries. In addition, certain products are charged a fixed 20% tax under Turkiye’s Special Consumption Tax Law (No. 4760).
