On July 6, a record temperature was recorded on Earth.

Axar.az reports that scientists called it a new alarming situation. According to them, this is the hottest temperature in at least 100,000 years.

The global average daily temperature rose to 17.23 degrees Celsius (63.01 degrees Fahrenheit) on Thursday, the University of Maine Climate Reanalyzer said, using data from the US National Center for Environmental Prediction.

This is a week of record temperatures. Monday's global average temperature reached 17.01 degrees Celsius (62.62 degrees Fahrenheit), the highest since 1979 by NCEP. On Tuesday, the temperature rose to 17.18 degrees.

Until this week, the global average temperature record was set in August 2016 - 16.92 degrees Celsius.
