The former commander of the Russian Aerospace Forces, Sergey Surovikin, has been appointed the chairman of the coordination committee on air defence issues of the CIS.

Axar.az reports that the Council of Defense Ministers of the CIS released information about this.

According to the information, his candidacy was approved unanimously.

It should be noted that it was reported that General Sergey Surovik was removed from the position of the commander of the Russian Aerospace Forces and even arrested. The reason for this was that he was aware of the rebellion of "Wagner" leader Yevgeny Prigogy.

Some time ago, Viktor Zavarzin, a member of the Defense Committee of the Russian State Duma, said that the general had moved to a good position in the CIS.
