The former commander of the Central Military District of Russia, Colonel-General Alexander Lapin has been appointed as the first deputy chief of staff of the Ground Forces.

Axar.az reports that the Ministry of Defense of Russia has released information about this.

It should be noted that information about Lapin's appointment on January 10, 2023, was spread in the Russian media. At that time, the press secretary of the Russian head of state, Dmitry Peskov, neither confirmed nor denied this information. Also, at that time, the military administration and other government agencies did not officially announce Lapin's appointment.
