MIT chief holds phone call with Hamas leader

The head of Turkey’s National Intelligence Organization (MIT), Ibrahim Kalin, held a phone call with Khalil al-Hayya, Deputy Head of Hamas’ Political Bureau.

Axar.az informs the information was reported by TRT Haber.

During the call, the two discussed the ongoing ceasefire negotiations within the framework of the latest proposals delivered to Hamas under the leadership of U.S. Special Envoy Steve Witkoff.

Turkiye’s joint efforts with the international community to end the humanitarian disaster and destruction in Gaza were highlighted.

It was emphasized that Turkiye stands with the Palestinian people, and issues such as prisoner exchanges and the delivery of humanitarian aid were also addressed.

The importance of continuing negotiations through mediation by the U.S., Qatar, and Egypt was underlined.
