The Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) has elected the speaker for the second round of the 28th legislative term.
Axar.az reports that in the secret ballot elections in which 5 candidates competed, the current speaker of the TBMM and deputy from Istanbul, Numan Kurtulmush, was re-elected as the speaker of the TBMM, collecting 329 votes.
Republican People's Party (CHP) deputy from Artvin, Ugur Bayraktutan, received 118 votes, People's Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) deputy from Diyarbakir, Osman Cengiz Chandar, received 18 votes, İYİ Party deputy from Istanbul, Mustafa Cihan Paçacı, received 26 votes, and Yeni Yol Party deputy from Samsun, Mehmet Karaman, received 6 votes.
According to the results, 11 votes were considered invalid.
