"Neftchi" has strengthened its squad with a new player.

Axar.az informs Benin national team’s defensive midfielder Sessi D’Almeida has joined the Baku-based club.

The 29-year-old has signed a 2+1 year contract. Born in Bordeaux, France, D’Almeida is a product of the local club of the same name. He has played in the French, English, and Portuguese leagues, and spent the last season with Apollon Limassol in Cyprus. He has made 34 appearances for Benin’s national team, scoring 1 goal, and helped the team qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations to be held in Morocco from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026.

Notably, D’Almeida signed with PSG in 2015 but was unable to secure a regular spot in the squad.
