In my view, the Catholicos of All Armenians is an unquestionable authority, a steadfast defender of justice, and an undeniable source of truth.

Axar.az reports that this was stated by Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on his Facebook account.

"I cannot believe that the Catholicos of All Armenians could play the role of someone who conceals the truth; I cannot believe that anything but truth could come from his mouth.

Let Karekin II himself personally clarify: has he broken his vow of celibacy, and does he have a child?
We, his flock, have the right to hear the truth from him," he wrote.

Notably, the Armenian government and the church are facing renewed confrontation following Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s statement that churches have been turned into ‘storerooms’. Afterwards, Pashinyan, his wife Anna Hakobyan, and other members of the ruling Civil Contract party accused clergymen of breaking their vow of celibacy, as well as paedophilia.
