The Parliament of Georgia adopted a new decision "On determining the number of the Defense Forces of Georgia in 2024".

Axar.az reports that the decision determined the current number of military personnel in the Georgian Defense Forces.

According to the adopted decision, the number of Defense Forces in the country will not exceed 37 thousand people. This restriction does not apply to military personnel, reservists, and temporary full-time employees of the Ministry of Defense of Georgia.

It should be noted that military service in Georgia today is divided into four categories. These are compulsory, contractual, personnel, and reserve categories.
