Georgia suspends flights operated by Iranian airlines under U.S. sanctions.

Axar.az reports, citing Georgia Today, that the Iranian airlines operated their last flights on September 20. Starting September 21, their operations in the Georgian aviation market will be restricted.

On September 8, the United States imposed sanctions on 36 companies and organizations over their support for Iran’s aviation sector. The list included companies operating flights to Georgia.

On September 10, the Civil Aviation Agency said Georgia would act in “full compliance with the international sanctions regime” and take into account sanctions mechanisms imposed by the European Union and the United States.
