The choice of the Armenian government to remain within the CSTO or to leave the organization will reflect the country's sovereign choice.

Axar.az reports that this was said by the General Secretary of the CSTO, Imangali Tasmagambetov, in an interview with the "Izvestia" publication.

"Member states adhere to a multi-vector policy in their interaction with foreign players, which remains their sovereign right. Accordingly, Yerevan's choice to remain within the CSTO or to leave the organization will also be a sovereign decision of this independent state.

Analysts of the Secretariat note that if Armenia leaves the CSTO, the balance of power in the South Caucasus may change, but in this case, regional security factors, the impact of which is quite difficult to predict and calculate, will come into play.

I believe that when discussing the possibility of a conflict between Armenia and the CSTO, which is nothing more than a hypothesis, the resource base and real capabilities of the parties should be taken into account. Therefore, this issue is a requirement for analysis," Tasmagambetov said.
