Elections in France: Macron's fate is decided

Voting for early elections to the National Assembly (the lower house of the parliament) has begun in France.

Axar.az reports that the centrist presidential coalition, the right-wing National Unity and the left-wing New People's Front are fighting for 577 seats.

To be elected in the first round, a candidate must receive the support of more than half of the voters in the region where he lives. Candidates who received at least 12.5% of the votes in the first round can be allowed to participate in the second round, which will be held on July 7.

It should be noted that French President Emmanuel Macron called the early elections on June 9 against the background of the serious defeat of the presidential coalition in the elections to the European Parliament.
