The Foreign Ministers of Iran, Russia, and Turkiye—Abbas Araghchi, Sergey Lavrov, and Hakan Fidan—held a meeting on Syria in the Astana format during the 79th session of the UN General Assembly in New York.

Axar.az informs that this was reported by the Russian Foreign Ministry.

It was noted that the parties confirmed their intention to organize the 22nd international meeting on Syria in coordination with the Kazakh authorities.

The heads of the foreign ministries engaged in a comprehensive exchange of views regarding the developments in and around Syria, emphasizing the tasks for long-term normalization in the country.

The mood of continuing joint efforts by the guarantor countries of the Astana process to assist in a comprehensive settlement based on respect for Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity was affirmed.
