Turkiye condemns Israel's ground attack on Lebanon

Israel's ground assault on Lebanon constitutes an illegal attempt to violate the country's sovereignty and territorial integrity. The attack must be halted immediately, and Israeli soldiers should withdraw from Lebanese territory.

Axar.az reports that this was stated in an official statement from the Turkish Foreign Ministry.

The statement noted that the escalating situation between Israel and Lebanon threatens the security and stability of both regional countries and those outside the region:

“This dangerous attempt at occupation is likely to create a new wave of migration and allow extremists to take root worldwide. It should not be forgotten that this situation will also impact countries that provide political support and weapons to Israel. The UN Security Council and international law must take the necessary actions against this attack directed at Lebanon's occupation. Every crime committed by Israel is also an affront to international law and the demands of the UN. On the other hand, a key step to restore peace in the region is to ensure an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza. Bringing peace to Gaza is the responsibility of all humanity,” the statement said.

It should be noted that last night, the Israeli army began a local ground operation in southern Lebanon.
