Russia has deployed nearly 50,000 troops from the Ukrainian front to the Kursk region.

Axar.az reports that this was stated by the commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, General Oleksandr Syrski.

"The Russian military command has taken these forces from other directions of the front where they were conducting offensive operations," Syrski noted.

According to the general, the transfer of troops to the Kursk region has weakened Russian attacks in the Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, and Kramatorsk directions.

"This has naturally made it easier for us to carry out our defensive operations."
