Khaled Mashal takes over as Hamas leader

Following the killing of Yahya Sinwar, Khaled Mashal has taken over as the leader of Hamas from abroad.

Axar.az reports that according to Lebanon's LBCI channel, Mashal previously served as the leader of Hamas from 1996 to 2017. After the death of Esmail Haniyeh, he was considered one of the main candidates for the leadership of the organization.
