Iran calls on the international community to ensure fair and non-discriminatory access to climate financing.

Axar.az reports that during his speech at the COP29 Leaders' Summit in Baku, Vice President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Shina Ansari, said:

According to him, Iran is taking numerous measures to address climate change, including initiatives such as developing a general strategy for managing climate change.

"In addition, a national action plan has been developed, with projects focusing on transitioning power plants to alternative fuels, reducing emissions in the oil and gas sector, and expanding the use of renewable energy sources like solar and wind," the vice president noted.

He emphasized that Tehran supports fair and non-discriminatory access to climate financing and called on the international community to take action in this direction.

"Let us not forget that the current global climate situation is the result of industrial policies implemented by a few developed nations. Developing countries should not be deprived of their right to development because of the actions of others. We cannot ignore double standards. All nations must unite to achieve our common goals," he said.
