In Russia, the admission of children of migrants who do not know the Russian language to school has been banned. The new rules will come into force on April 1, 2025.

Axar.az reports that on December 11, the State Duma adopted a draft law prohibiting the admission of migrant children who do not know the Russian language to school.

According to the document, foreign citizens will be admitted to educational institutions upon presentation of a document confirming the legality of their presence on the territory of the Russian Federation. They must also pass a Russian language test.
