An explosion has occurred in a residential building on Ryazansky Prospect in Moscow.

Axar.az reports that according to Russian media, the explosion took place on the first floor of the building, resulting in the deaths of two people.

Russian Telegram channels have reported that one of the victims was Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov of the Russian Armed Forces.

Along with the general, his driver, who had come to take him to work, also died. The explosive device went off while they were near the building's exit.

The Moscow Investigative Department of the Russian Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case related to a murder.

According to the preliminary information released by the department, the explosion that caused the general's death was placed inside a scooter at the entrance of the building.
