Elon Musk hosted a controversial live interview with Alice Weidel, the leader of Germany's far-right party, Alternative für Deutschland (AfD), on Thursday.
Axar.az, citing BBC, reports that the 74-minute conversation, conducted in English, covered various topics including energy policy, German bureaucracy, and Adolf Hitler, with Musk endorsing the AfD for upcoming elections.
This move is part of Musk's ongoing involvement in European politics, which has drawn criticism for meddling in Germany's snap election. During the interview, Weidel rejected claims that the AfD is an extremist group, despite parts of the party being labeled as right-wing extremists by German authorities. She controversially stated that Hitler was a "communist" and described him as an "anti-Semitic socialist." Musk, known for his ties to Donald Trump, expressed support for Weidel and praised her as a potential future leader of Germany. While the AfD is currently polling second in Germany, it is unlikely to form a government due to other parties refusing to collaborate with them. Musk’s public endorsement has sparked concern about the influence of misinformation and his growing involvement in foreign politics.
