The document between Armenia and U.S. aims to improve bilateral relations and covers many areas of cooperation, from economic and security to democracy and defense.

Axar.az reports that Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan made these remarks in parliament while discussing the Strategic Partnership Charter signed between the U.S. and Armenia.

"This is a very successful, multi-faceted, and promising document," the minister emphasized.

"But I want to focus on something else. There were very interesting manipulations. Some said: everyone has been saved… There’s no need to look for saviors in the north, south, east, or west. If we have the means to save ourselves, then we must do so on our own—to survive, develop, and strengthen ourselves. We are not seeking saviors, and this document does not provide one.

Another group says this is a military alliance. They might later claim that strategic partnership didn’t work.

Then there’s the brightest group, which said that whether good or bad, Tehran and Moscow will punish us for this.

I was recently on a visit to Moscow, and my deputy returned from Tehran two days ago. We are very close and can say that we are in daily and weekly contact with our colleagues in Moscow and Tehran, coordinating many issues and working in an atmosphere of mutual understanding and partnership."

Returning to the charter, Mirzoyan emphasized its importance:
"This cannot be called a military alliance; in fact, it is not even a contract but a charter."
