Beirut has agreed to extend the stay of Israeli troops in southern Lebanon until February 18 in exchange for the release of Hezbollah members and Lebanese citizens.

Axar.az reports citing sources in the Lebanese leadership.

According to the information, Israel itself asked Lebanon to extend the presence of its troops in southern Lebanon.

It should be noted that according to the agreement reached, the Israeli army was to withdraw from southern Lebanon by the end of January 2025.
