The voting process for the municipal elections in Azerbaijan has ended.

Axar.az reports that polling stations opened at 8:00 today, and voting ended at 19:00.

According to the CEC, voter turnout as of 17:00 was 28.77 percent.

The elections were held in 5,846 polling stations covering 118 constituencies nationwide. 16,092 candidates are running for 8,071 members of 685 municipalities.

According to the Central Election Commission (CEC), there are 5 million 961 thousand 987 voters eligible to vote in the municipal elections.
