The Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs has extended condolences to the United States.

Axar.az reports that this was shared on the Ministry's X account.

"We are deeply saddened by the tragic mid-air collision between a passenger plane and a helicopter in Washington D.C. We convey our heartfelt condolences to the families of those who lost their loved ones and pray for the safety of the survivors."

It is noted that a passenger plane collided with a Blackhawk helicopter near Washington’s Reagan National Airport, falling into the Potomac River. The plane had 60 passengers, including 4 crew members, while the helicopter had 3 U.S. soldiers. The bodies of 18 individuals have already been recovered from the Potomac River.
