Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said that the country is ready to join the project to lay an electric cable along the bottom of the Black Sea.
Axar.az reports that he said this at a joint press conference with his Georgian counterpart Irakli Kobakhidze on the results of the meeting of the Armenia and Georgia Intergovernmental Commission on economic cooperation.
He noted the importance of ensuring inclusiveness in regional and non-regional projects:
“In this context, we emphasize Armenia’s interest and readiness to join the project to lay an electric cable along the bottom of the Black Sea.”
It should be noted that in December 2022, the governments of Azerbaijan, Hungary, Georgia, and Romania signed an agreement to lay a 1,200-kilometer cable along the bottom of the Black Sea to transmit 1 GW of electricity. This line is intended to transport electricity produced in Azerbaijan through Georgia and the Black Sea to Romania, and then to Hungary and the rest of Europe.
