Quentin Tarantino declared that 2019 was "the last f--king year of movies," criticizing the decline of theatrical releases due to the rise of streaming.

Axar.az reports that speaking at the Sundance Festival, the legendary director lamented how films now have brief token runs in theaters before quickly moving to streaming platforms, making theatrical releases feel like "a show pony exercise."
Tarantino has long been outspoken about the changing film industry and previously stated he would retire after directing ten films. His last movie was Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood (2019), and fans are awaiting news of his supposed final project.
