A total of 499,575 people have voted across the republic.

Axar.az reports that this was announced by Farid Orujov, Director of the Information Center of the Central Election Commission (CEC), while presenting voter turnout data at 10:00 AM during the local elections.

He mentioned that the average voter turnout was 8.38%.

It should be noted that voting will continue until 7:00 PM.

The elections are being held at 5,846 polling stations across 118 electoral districts in the country. 16,092 candidates are competing for the 8,071 seats in 685 municipalities.

According to the Central Election Commission (CEC), there are 5,961,987 eligible voters for the municipal elections.
