The Russian State Duma has approved Andrey Nikitin as the new Minister of Transport.

Axar.az reports, citing RBK.

Nikitin’s candidacy was supported by all parliamentary factions, with 408 deputies voting in favor. No one voted against or abstained.

According to Russian law, several federal ministers — including the Minister of Transport — must be confirmed by the State Duma before being officially appointed by the President.

It should be recalled that President Vladimir Putin had signed a decree dismissing Roman Starovoyt from the position of Transport Minister. Starovoyt died by suicide on the same day.
