The Paris Court of Appeal has increased the sentence of Loris Tufanya, a member of the Armenian Charjum movement, in connection with the attack on the Azerbaijani embassy in France in September 2022.

Axar.az reports that the Paris Court of Appeal considered the appeal on June 10 and today adopted a decision on the case.

The court upheld the decision of the first instance court, which found Tufanya guilty of the attack on the Azerbaijani embassy in France.

Accordingly, Tufanya was given an additional sentence - a 12-month suspended sentence with the addition of a 5-year ban on possession or carrying weapons with a permit (a more severe sentence, since according to the decision of the first instance court, he was sentenced to a 6-month suspended sentence).

In addition, after examining the case materials, the court found Tufanya guilty of causing damage to property intended for public use by a group of persons or accomplices. Thus, the court recognized the gravity of the crime compared to the first instance.

The appeal upheld the decision of the first instance court in the civil case, namely the imposition of a financial penalty against him.
