"Even after the construction of the roads, it will not be possible to carry out all these transports solely by buses. Because the demand is very high, and expanding the services of mass transit carriers is also very important," Anar Rzayev, Chairman of the Board of the Land Transport Agency (AYNA), said at a meeting dedicated to transport issues.
Axar.az reports that according to him, development scenarios for the metro were analyzed, and the most optimal scenario was selected by being simulated: "It has been presented to your attention that 10 new stations will be built, they will be connected with 4 stations. These 10 stations are the extension of the "Purple Line" to Babek Avenue and the extension of the "Green Line" to the metro "Hazi Aslanov" station. I would like to note that the extension of the "Purple Line" will also expand the use of the "Avtovaghzal" and "Khojasan" stations, and it will significantly reduce the pressure on the '20 Yanvar metro station and that circular area.
The extension of the "Green Line" from "Hazi Aslanov" will serve thousands of citizens who commute daily from the city center to the shopping center located in Khojasan. This will further reduce traffic in the city center. As a result of the implementation of these projects, it will be possible to transport another 88 million passengers by metro annually. The metro will carry out transport within the city."
