The Armenian government has been discussing the issue of completely severing diplomatic relations with Belarus in recent days.

Axar.az informs that the publication writes that not a single Belarusian official has visited Yerevan in the past six months:

“After Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko announced his support for Azerbaijan’s victory in the war, Yerevan’s ambassador to Minsk was recalled. Almost no important diplomatic contacts have been established in recent months. Also, Lukashenko’s recent statements regarding Armenia, the Karabakh issue, and Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan have been met with serious discontent in the country. Interestingly, neither the Prime Minister’s administration nor the Ministry of Foreign Affairs have yet given an official response to Lukashenko. Everyone understands very well that the Belarusian leader would not have said those words without the knowledge of Russian President Vladimir Putin.”

The newspaper claims that the last telephone conversation between Vladimir Putin and Nikol Pashinyan was very tense:

“We have information that the conversation did not go very well. Pashinyan tried to justify himself during the conversation, saying that the process of joining the European Union is not a turning away from Russia. However, Putin very dryly stated that this step would not end well for Armenia. That is why Pashinyan may not take any concrete serious steps in response to Lukashenko for now, but maybe content with just a few statements.

It should be noted that Alexander Lukashenko, in his first statement after being re-elected as president, blamed Nikol Pashinyan for the "loss" of Karabakh. He said that the prime minister would bring about the end of Armenia.
