Greek Minister of National Defense Nikos Dendias has denied reports about plans to transfer S-300 anti-aircraft missile systems to Armenia.

Axar.az reports that Dendias said this in response to a query by the leader of the "Greek Solution" party, Kyriakos Velopoulos, back in mid-December 2024.

The query states that media reports have been circulating about the intention of the Greek Ministry of Defense to remove Russian anti-aircraft systems, including the S-300, from its arsenal and replace them with new ones manufactured in Israel or another country. Thus, it is planned to transfer air defense systems to Armenia within the framework of broad strategic cooperation with France and other partners.

"In response to the relevant question, I would like to state that no decision has been made regarding the transfer of anti-aircraft weapon systems to third countries. In any case, the main criterion in the policy of the Ministry of National Defense is to fully maintain the country's defense capabilities at any point on Greek territory," he noted.

Recall that some time ago, the "enikos.gr" portal reported that Greece would deliver S-300, TOR-M1, and Osa-AKM anti-aircraft missile systems to Armenia.
