A helicopter carrying Honduran President Xiomara Castro was forced to make an emergency landing in the Santa Cruz de Yojoa area, in Cortés, in the north of Honduras due to adverse weather conditions.

Video from the scene shows President Castro safely exiting the aircraft unharmed.
According to preliminary reports, President Castro was traveling from San Pedro Sula to the capital, but the aircraft encountered an issue in the El Balín area.
She was then evacuated from the scene in a police vehicle and transported to a medical facility for a routine health evaluation.
The incident caused no damage or injuries, as reported so far.
After being rescued, President Castro thanked God that everyone aboard the helicopter was safe. "Thank God this place was found."
"There was a lot of fog, it was very closed, we tried to return to San Pedro (Sula)," she told local media.
