Ukraine and the U.S. have reached a framework agreement for a major economic deal, granting the U.S. access to Ukraine’s rare earth minerals.
Axar.az, citing CBS News, reports that the deal, expected to be signed as early as Friday, could help secure continued American military aid for Ukraine.
While initial U.S. proposals included a $500 billion profit-sharing arrangement, the finalized version establishes a joint fund, with Ukraine contributing 50% of future proceeds from state-owned resources.
However, security guarantees are not included, and further discussions are expected when Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky meets President Trump. The agreement follows weeks of tense negotiations, with both leaders trading sharp rhetoric before making progress during a visit by Trump’s special envoy, Lt. Gen. Keith Kellogg.
